Toyota Extends Production Halt at Plants Affected by Supplier Accident

Summary: Toyota, the world’s largest automaker, announced that it is extending the production halt at some of its plants due to an accident at a supplier’s facility.

Toyota Motor, the global leader in auto sales, has decided to extend the production stoppage at one of its plants and certain group company factories until Friday. This measure is being taken due to the ongoing consequences of an accident at one of Toyota’s suppliers. However, the company will resume production at a line in its Tsutsumi plant, which had been halted due to the accident at supplier Chuo Spring. The production stoppage, however, will continue at two lines in Toyota’s Takaoka plant. This incident has forced Toyota to adjust its production plans in order to mitigate the impact of the supplier accident.
